Beasley, Mayo capture NBA rookie honors
Beasley earned the Eastern Conference honor by ranking first among rookies with a 20.6 points-per-game average. He also ranked second in field-goal percentage, connecting at a 55.3 percent clip. Mayo, meanwhile, captured honors in the Western Conference with three straight 20-plus point performances. Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley and Memphis Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo were selected as the NBA's top rookies for the month of April.
