Frontier Comm CEO: Proven Track Record Of Integration >FTR
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Frontier Communications Corp. (FTR) has a proven track record of integration, and should be able to quickly absorb Verizon Communications Inc.'s (VZ) rural assets, according to Frontier Chief Executive Maggie Wilderotter.

While the deal is structured as a tax-free spin-off and merger, Frontier will have to raise roughly $3.3 billion in funds through a debt offering, the proceeds of which will be paid to Verizon. Even though Frontier is raising debt, the acquisition of Verizon's assets allows the company to approach investment grade rating, she said during a conference call on Tuesday...


Retail Woes Rattle Investors
April dip shows consumers still aren't shopping; major averages tumble through midday.
A lukewarm reading on retail sales put the kibosh on any advance, as Wall Street stays on hold and investors reflect on two months of gains.

U.S. stocks were down Wednesday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 140 points to 8326, the S&P 500 declined 16 points to 892 and the Nasdaq Composite slid 31 points to 1684. Among the companies whose shares are actively trading in the session are GT Solar International Inc. (SOLR), BMC Software Inc. (BMC) and Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT)...
