GM Dealer Closing List


GM to notify 1,100 dealers of closings
DETROIT, MI -- Today is the day when 1,100 General Motors dealerships find out whether GM will renew their franchise agreements when they expire at the end of September 2010.
The news comes a day after Chrysler announced that it would sever relationships with 789 dealers, in an effort to cut costs and keep existing dealers from competing with one another.
At Chicago's oldest dealership -- selling cars since before Chrysler existed -- owner Stanley Balzekas summoned his employees Thursday...


Chrysler delivers bad news
Jeryl Luegers learned through a letter Thursday that Chrysler LLC wants to revoke his franchise to sell Jeeps, which he has been doing since 1973.

Luegers, one of five brothers who own Bob Luegers Motors in Jasper, Ind., said the news that his business was on the list was startling. He said he didn't welcome it.

These are the local dealers whose franchise agreements Chrysler LLC wants to revoke:

Bob Luegers Motors in Jasper, Ind.; Byrne Motors in Princeton, Ind.; D-Patrick in Evansville; Evansville Chrysler, Mazda, Volvo, Kia in Evansville; Hendrickson Enterprise in Boonville, Ind.; and Memering Motorplex in Vincennes, Ind.

"It's been a great brand for us," he said. "Certainly, we hate to lose it — the sales of parts and services, along with vehicles."...

(AP) — The list of Alabama car dealers on Chrylser's list of those it wants to close, with note on what the dealer plans to do:
